Satchel supports Vaikų linija volunteer mission

Satchel supports Vaikų linija volunteer mission

As we anticipate the sparkling year-end celebrations with our loved ones, there are many people, kids and teenagers among them, to whom holidays approach with different kinds of associations and challenges.

Vaikų linija (Child Helpline) volunteers support youths through anonymous phone and chat conversations, hearing out their struggles related to bullying, abuse, problematic family relationships, and many other tensions they go through.

Vaikų linija and Satchel partnership comes at a crucial time when the demand for emotional support services continues to grow among young people.

Dr. Robertas Povilaitis, Director of Vaikų linija, said: “Vaikų linija receives almost 300 requests for support from children every day. Currently, we can respond to about 7 out of 10 requests, so partner contributions are vital to ensure uninterrupted emotional help. Children reach out about various difficulties – from bullying and relationship challenges to anxiety, loneliness or heavy feelings, crisis situations, and thoughts of self-harm or suicide. It’s very important for us to be accessible when children need a safe space to talk. One conversation can change or even save a life. We are very grateful to Satchel for contributing to our mission of listening to every child when they need help the most.”

Sergiy Barybin, the CEO of Satchel, shared his perspective on the partnership: “As a company rooted in Lithuania, we believe in supporting the wellbeing of our local community, especially its youngest members. Mental health support for children and teenagers is not just important—it’s essential. We’re proud to stand alongside Vaikų linija and contribute to ensuring that every child who reaches out for help can be heard. This aligns with our values of accessibility and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.”

Through support, Vaikų linija is able to prepare more volunteer consultants and provide ongoing training for existing ones, ultimately helping to ensure that more children experiencing difficulties can find someone ready to listen when they need it most. For children and teenagers facing challenges, knowing that help is just a phone call or message away can make all the difference.

Satchel invites businesses and individuals to engage in meaningful social partnerships that make a positive difference in our society’s wellbeing. You can become a volunteer or support Vaikų linija here.
