Satchel & Mes Darom: A different walk in the park

This week, Satchel and environmental organization, Mes Darom, begin an inspiring campaign inviting everyone to take personal responsibility for our nature. This concept translates into very practical actions: whenever you go for a walk, grab a trash bag, a pair of gloves, collect garbage you find on the way, sort it, and be the change.
We believe in a simple truth: if each of us does their part, albeit small, the impact can be vast and positively transforming. Therefore, Satchel and Mes Darom created cleanup kits for people willing to join this campaign which encourages citizens to make every walk, hike, or picnic an opportunity to relax while also contributing to a cleaner environment. This small but meaningful habit is easy to adopt and accessible to all.
“The idea is to inspire people to help nature, without complicated rules or time constraints. You go for a walk, you take a trash bag, and you do kindness,” says the representative of Mes Darom, Edvardas Baltuška.
Prizes for participants
Anyone can participate – just go out into nature with a bag, pick up any visible litter, and sort it properly. Participants are encouraged to share photos on social media, tagging Mes Darom profile and using the hashtag #IšGamtosNeTuščiomis (in Lithuanian, it essentially means “leave nature cleaner”). Photos can be posted in both feed posts and stories.
Every month, one winner will be selected from all participants and will receive special prizes from Mes Darom and Satchel.
On that note, Edvardas suggests: “For families with kids, this activity can become a game: who can find the most peculiar item, or who can collect the most. It’s not just about caring for nature; it’s also a fun bonding experience.”
Free Satchel cleanup kits for businesses
The campaign also invites companies to participate. Any business interested can register, and Mes Darom will provide free Satchel cleanup kits, which include a reusable tote bag, recycled plastic trash bags, and work gloves. This is a great way for businesses to not only care for the environment, but also engage employees in a shared, meaningful activity.
As the Satchel CEO, Sergiy Barybin, puts it: “We care about the country and the society our kids grow up in. Without waiting for someone else to take care of the future world, each of us can and should take a personal responsibility for our environment and nature. Therefore, we invite the community to do a small good deed that leads to big and meaningful changes.”
#IšGamtosNeTuščiomis campaign will run until autumn, featuring suggested walking routes, competitions, and educational activities.
